I want to talk about the greatest weakness that everyone has-you included-and why that weakness is only working to trigger the stress that debilitates your life.
Before I get to that, I want to take you back just a bit (stick with me because this story matters) to a story about Thomas Edison-you know, the inventor of the light bulb.
Edison must have felt stress-financially, in his work, in his life-everywhere. And I say that because he basically ran a company based on inventing things that no one thought of, often on deadlines set by his investors. Imagine that for a minute…you tell someone “give me money and I will come up with world-changing inventions” like the light bulb? The pressure must have been incredible.
Anyway, he had his ups and downs and many of his inventions actually came at the last minute when he was strapped for cash and almost down and out of business.
But still, there’s a famous quote by Edison that says “Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.”
You know what, he is right.
My greatest weakness is giving up. Your greatest weakness is giving up.
And when it comes to anxiety, stress, and pressure-you can never give up.
