With 40% of Americans clinically depressed and another 40% having subclinical depressive miasma, how much is the result of crummy nutrition? Is it possible that it is because 80% of the food eaten is just plain junk?
Forty-five percent of all food eaten is from McDonald’s or its clones – all junk! I wouldn’t even trust a cup of tea at these junk houses. All pop is junk. Almost all cereals are junk. At least 99% of bread is junk. And, in the last year, one scientific article was entitled, “Sugar is Poison.” Of course, Frank Duffy emphasized this in Sugar Blues almost 40 years ago.. Ninety-nine percent of peanut butter is junk and is artificially hydrogenated and even has added sugar. Most fruits and vegetables, even “fresh” ones, come from God only knows where. And, any coming from China are definitely not to be trusted! Of course, Monsanto’s GMO is, at best, not natural.
Crummy nutrition is a major contributor to depression, anxiety, obesity, heart disease, stroke and cancer, but other than that Mrs. Lincoln, it is not so bad. Food is a major contributor to health, mood and longevity. Real food, not artificially anything, not GMO and preferably locally grown, is the major requirement. I have lived on a farm for 48 years so that I can grow a huge majority of my food. If you don’t have that possibility, plant a garden instead of a lawn! Your health and happiness depend upon real food!
