Because everything affects everything, deficiencies of ANY essential nutrient can cause multiple problems. In fact, at least 85% of ALL illnesses are the result of deficiencies in essential nutrients, exercise and/or stress management!
Below is a list of the most common nutritional deficiencies, and there are many others:
- Vitamin D 3
- B 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, and/or 12
- Folate or folic acid
- Biotin-B 7
- Omega 3’s
- Vitamin C
- Vitamin K 2
- Vitamin E, especially tocotrienols
- Quality protein, especially in vegetarians
Everything from Alzheimer’s to cancer and heart disease can be partially or significantly related to deficiencies. In general, it is far better to take a GOOD multivitamin/mineral plus essential Omega-3’s than to depend upon commercial food, unless you raise your own food organically.
Ross Hume Hall noted in FOOD FOR NOUGHT over 30 years ago that much of the food in grocery stores was deficient in many nutrients-not to mention the added pesticides, etc. In addition to deficiencies in essential nutrients, 80% of ALL food in this country is JUNK==all fast food restaurant junk and at least 60% of food in stores is “processed” at best and toxic at worst. Pop is not a food, nor is sugar. Artificial sweeteners such as aspartame (unequal!), Splenda (not splendid) are, at best, toxins.
White bread is virtually all artificial and deficient in normal nutrients. Partially hydrogenated fats are toxic. Each of these junk non-foods actually robs you of many essential nutrients when your deprived body tries to digest them.
Deficiency in exercise adds tremendous metabolic stress, thereby depriving you of some essentials. And stress forces the body to run at an increased alarm rate. Everything indeed affects everything.
