I am delighted to share a message from my friend, Dr. Fred Hidaji.. I would not have the guts to try what he did!

Thanks, Norm

Dr. Hidaji Puts His Body in Harm’s Way for Science!

I tried an experiment on myself the past two weeks. And the results blew me away. It was pretty simple: for one solid week, I ate what I call “Super Clean” (we’ll discuss the specifics later… for now, just play along!). Then, on the evening of Day 7, I resumed a regular diet; I still didn’t eat anything terrible, just some cheese sticks, some crackers, some bagged chips, some orange juice, and a roast beef sandwich. Here are my observations:

Day 1: Spent the day making salad, baking salmon, cutting up veggies, pre-mixing a batch of my green smoothies.

Day 2: Intestinal bloating completely resolved.

Day 3: Woke up without my typical morning joint aches.

Day 4: Instead of getting sleepy around 8:30 and dozing off, I found myself alert until around 10 pm.

Day 5: A nagging tendonitis I had in my elbow just vanished. Disbelieving, I poked and prodded my arm trying to find the sore spot; I could not.

Day 6: I went running. I usually have a sore ankle that slows me down for the first mile or so. This day… no pain.

Day 7: Woke up alert and sharp; so much so, that I FORGOT to make coffee!

Day 8 (after crappy food binge): Intestinal discomfort started almost immediately; Elbow tendonitis flared up the next morning. Some trouble focusing on my paperwork. Needed coffee at 1pm to make it through the afternoon without passing out.

It’s the Toxins, Stupid!

I know that there is a lot of noise out there about healthy eating. The last thing I want to do is become part of the noise. Like you, I am overwhelmed most days with information coming at me from every direction. So instead of adding to the pile of stuff you won’t remember, I will make it as easy for you as I can:

YOUR BODY IS A WASTE TREATMENT FACILITY.

Your body expends a lot of energy getting rid of waste. Our cells produce waste in the course of normal metabolism. But waste also enters from what we drink, eat, and breathe. The body’s waste treatment ability is LIMITED. That means, if you buffet your body with junk like food colors, trans fats, preservatives, etc., you can overload your waste plant to the point that it cannot function properly. So what’s the result? Early on, it’s just feeling crappy. Later — heart disease, arthritis, cancer, irritable bowel disease, depression: you name it.

?

The first photo is filled with processed “food.” Though I can’t be completely confident of this, there may actually be some protein, carbs, and fat in there. But there are also lots of things you don’t need: food colors, preservatives, trans fats, MSG, rancid fats. This stuff clogs up your waste treatment facility.

Contrast to the second photo: Not only do these bright, beautiful, natural foods leave out the toxins in the first group photo, but they contain tons of antioxidants, vitamins, minerals that your waste treatment facility needs to detoxify.

Come on, Folks! Doesn’t this idea ring true? It doesn’t have to be complex. Make the right choice!

Super-Clean

So what do I mean by “Super-Clean”?

1. Avoid: dairy, gluten-containing foods (wheat, barley products), added sugar, and processed foods.

2. Eat lots of: brightly colored fruits and veggies, beans, cold water fish (Wild Alaskan salmon, sardines)

Your Game Plan

I encourage you to do this same experiment yourself. “Clean it up” for just a few days, and see how good your body feels. Also observe what symptoms come back when you start introducing the foods on the “avoid” list.

I don’t want you to be perfect. Just keep in mind the above concepts when you eat, and do the best you can. If you eat processed foods day after day, it probably has been years since you have been out from under the toxic cloud. Many of the symptoms you think are just normal for you may be your body’s waste management system on overload.
